Introduction to DSLR Photography
Taught by Troy Freund, Professional Photographer and Adult Educator
This workshop is geared toward amateur photographers who have recently gotten their first Digital Single Lens Reflex camera. The “hands-on” workshop will cover most standard features and operating modes of the camera, and some of the more advanced features as well. Basic photo-concepts will be covered, including a description of Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO. Exposure modes such as Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, Program and “Green Zone” will be explained and the differences between them described. Many illustrative photos will be shown to help attendees understand the concepts being covered.
Bring your own camera and lens. The class is taught by Troy Freund, professional photographer and adult education instructor. Seating is limited and advance registration is required. Attend classes on Canon DSLR video techniques and Basic Canon Rebel usage . Presented by Canon trainer, John Stoilov, these classes will help you navigate the menu systems of the Canon DSLR cameras. John will also present tips and tricks, especially for video, to make your camera equipment more productive and effective.

9:30-11:30 Macro Photography presentation by Dennis Nervig, Tamron Lens
12:30-3:00PM Photography in the Domes.
A limited selection of Tamron macro and zoom lenses will be available for class use. Hands-on instruction with Mr. Nervig and Mike Crivello’s staff will by ongoing in the various domes. The Irish Spring show will be in the feature dome.
Workshop price includes seminar, admission to the Domes and Box Lunch.
Participants should bring their own camera equipment, tripods or monopods. The Domes will be open to the public during this time, so some accessibility may be limited at times.
